Dear School Nurse:
Thank you for agreeing to be a part of the national Peak Performance USA team. This group consists of respiratory therapists, parents, and school nurses and staff like yourself, committed to helping our students with asthma live and perform to their peak potential.
According to recent research studies, asthma is one of the leading causes of school absences, affecting nine million children under the age of 18 and 5.6 million ages 5–17. However, with proper treatment and thorough education, their symptoms can be kept under control. Children with asthma can live normal, active lives, and perform well at school. Your efforts will help.
Enclosed are your materials for Peak Performance USA Asthma, including a peak flow meter and a valved holding chamber. Additional materials and information can be found at www.PeakPerformanceUSA.info.
